ALLAH (SWT) has sent Muslims into this world as a test. This world is not a permanent place for us. The reason of us being in this world is to do good deeds and lead life according to the principles of Islam so that we can enter Jannah on the Day of Judgement

WHAT ARE THE GATES OF JANNAH

Jannah (Heaven) is a beautiful place that Muslims will get on the Day of Akhirah by doing deeds that Islam has taught us. The Jannah is a huge place with all the beauties, blessings, and bounties a human desires. Muslims will get everything in the Jannah and they will live a life full of blessings there. But do you know that Jannah has 8 different gates for 8 groups of people? These are the special gates of Jannah that welcome people who excel in certain deeds. But those who feared their Lord will be driven to Paradise in groups until, when they reach it while its gates have been opened and its keepers say, “Peace be upon you; you have become pure; so enter it to abide eternally therein,” [they will enter]. Surah Zumar Ayat 73

NAMES OF THE GATES OF JANNAH

The 8 gates of Jannah that are mentioned in the Holy Quran are:

1. Bab As-Salah

This gate of Jannah is the entrance for those people who prayed their Salah (Prayers) on time. Only those will be allowed to enter this gate who have always performed their prayers and never skipped it. This shows how much significance Salah holds in Islam and that there is a special place for those Muslims who are punctual with their Salahs.

2. Bab Al-Jihad

This gate of Jannah is for those Muslims who participated in Jihad. One thing to understand is that Jihad not only means fighting in the battleground for Islam but it also means helping others, taking care of your parents, and protecting Islam through various means.  People who work hard to protect Islam and support their community will enter through this gate.

3. Bab As-Sadaqah

The Bab As Sadqah is the gate of Jannah for those Muslims who did charity in their life. Muslims who were generous and used their money to help the needy people of the Society will enter Jnnah through this gate.  Charity is a great virtue that is liked by ALLAH (SWT). Whether the charity is big or small, Allah (SWT) sees the people’s intention, and every Muslim who does charity will enter through this gate, Insha Allah. Even if it’s a little charity, like giving food or water to the people. “The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed [of grain] which grows seven spikes; in each spike is a hundred grains…” (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:261)

4. Bab Ar-Rayyan

This gate of Jannah is for those Muslims who fasted in their lives especially the fasts of Ramadan. Fasting is the pillar of Islam, Muslims fast to please ALLAH (SWT) and to attain his blessings. So, ALLAH (SWT) has kept a special gate for the Muslims who fast for the sake of ALLAH with sincerity and devotion.  The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said,  “In Paradise, there are eight gates, one of which is called ar-Rayyaan. No one will enter it except those who fast, and when they have entered it will be locked behind them and no one else will enter it”. [Ibn Katheer, an-Nihaayah, 2/214]

5. Bab Al-Hajj

This gate of Jannah is for the people who performed HAJJ. Hajj is an important part of Islam. It is an obligatory pilgrimage for those Muslims who can afford it. Those Muslims who have performed Hajj intending to follow Allah’s command and by following all rules set in Islam will get to enter Jannah through this gate.

6. Bab Al-Kazimeen Al-Ghaiz

This is another gate of Jannah that is specified for those Muslims who control their anger and stay calm in difficult situations. Shaitan loves it when Muslims get angry he tries different methods to make Muslims angry so that they hurt other people. But ALLAH (SWT) has commanded us to control our anger and defeat the Shaitaan in his evil planning. And for those who follow Allah’s command and control their anger, ALLAH has given a special gate of Jannah to them as a reward.

7. Bab Al-Iman

The Bab Al Iman Gate is for those Muslims who are strong in their faith. Muslims who have strong Imaan (faith ) and trust in Allah (SWT) will get into Jannah through this gate. It is a special gate for those who always trust in Allah’s plans, never lose their hope, and have strong faith in Islam.

8. Bab Al-Dhikr

Those Muslims who always remember Allah and do his Dikhr will get entry into Jannah through this gate. Muslims should always do Dhikr even if they doing their routine work they should recite words like Subhan Allah, Alhamdulillah, Astagfirullah, and Allah O Akbar as these small words hold bigger rewards. “So remember Me; I will remember you. And be grateful to Me and do not deny Me.” (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:152) CONCLUSION The eight gates of Jannah remind us to do good in different ways. Whether it’s praying, fasting, giving charity, or forgiving others, every good deed brings us closer to Allah. Let’s work hard so that on the Day of Judgement we can be among those people who will get the reward of entering Jannah through these gates
